This is Turin Turambar, from Tolkien's Children of Hurin.
Really good book. I recommend. It's one of the most "cinematic" books. It could easily turn into a film. It would create a new genre. Fantasy Tragedy.
Anyway, i love drawing Middle-earth stuff. Most of it doesn't get in here in DA because i don't showcase it. I'd love to get some Middle-earth themed comissions. I spent years trying to match the styles and things and i pretty much dominate the visual style of middle-earth we know.
About his appearance, in the book turin's described as the most fairest man to ever live. But i never imagined him like that. In my conception it's impossible to suffer as much as this guy did and reflect beauty on the out side.
woot. i remember the book. not gonna lie, pretty young at the time i read it so didnt understand a whole lot of it but i remember this bamphf. well, at least the helmet. cool pic.
Astonishing!!!!
What a splendid job pulyx!
The Silmarillion is probably my favourite book of all times. And I loved Children of Hurin. This drawing really does Turin justice
