So fellas
How have you been?

Hope my fellow hordies will dig this one.

This is Durotan, chieftain to the frostwolf Clan
And father of Horde Warchief Thrall.

Durotan just plain kicks ass.
He was one of the orc warriors who tried to warn the rest of the stupid orcs that drinking that bastard mannoroth's blood wouldn't do them any good And it was very very dangerous to surrender fully to the rage.

hehe About the drawing itself
seeing from the thumbnail one might think "wow, a greenskin in the alliance" haah
So much blue and all.
But he's a frostwolf, and he's from Alterac. So, blue white and metal is always good =)

I took reference from some old designs for a Warcraft adventure game that never saw the light of day. And eventually was turned into a Book called Lord of Clans, which tells the story of how thrall became the Warchief.
I incremented the design here and there.
It's like ....an WOLF overdose.
But hey, wolves never go around alone. =P


Hope ya guys dig.
Was about 6 hours. Painter IX and Photoshop CS2.
All done by me!

The dumbass tht i am i forgot to color the jewel on his belt.
Went back and colored it.

That's beautiful, man. I love your work... Do you think you can make more Old School hordies? I'm a HUGE Horde fan and I'd love to see Orgrim Doomhammer.

Fully Epic in all its Epicness.. one thing I noticed though was his weapon.. is that Doomhammer or just one like it.. Unless I got my facts wrong and Durotan did use it pretty sure Doomhammer was all Orgrim(as his name implies) Doomhammer

Nice work, although being the WoW geek that I am I have to ask is that meant to be Thrall's hammer? Because if so then Durotan would not have had it seeing as it used to belong to the Doomhammer family until Orgim Doomhammer declared Thrall Warchief and gave it to him. Anyway nevertheless it is a very nice piece! :D
